How do i turn a improper to mix?

Divide the numerator by the denominator. Put the answer as the whole number. Then put the remainder as the new numerator and leave the denominator the same. Ex. 5/2 == 2 1/2 Two goes into 5 twice, so I put the two as the whole number there was a remainder of 1 so I made it the new numerator. and just kept the two as the bottom denominator.
