In addition to stealing taxpayer money, is it legal for corporations to make money?

It's criminal and it needs to be stopped but as long as corporations are making the wallets of politicians a little bit heavier, it's going to keep going on. And after the verdict of Citizens United v. FEC about a month ago which gives corporations the abilitiy to donate litterally limitless amounts of money to candidates running for office it's going to get a lot worse.
